James Madsen

In questi giorni si è spento James Madsen, uno dei massimi esperti di dinosauri della Formazione Morrison. La sua dettagliata monografia sull'osteologia di Allosaurus (Madsen, 1976a) è tra le opere più citate nel campo della morfologia e anatomia dei theropodi mesozoici. A lui si deve anche l'istituzione di altri theropodi del Giurassico Superiore nordamericano, come il tyrannosauroide Stokesosaurus Madsen (1974) ed il probabile megalosauroide Marshosaurus Madsen (1976b).
